Xbox One to ship without Kinect

New versions of the Xboner will come without the Kinect and it will be an optional accessory.

Neat. Good to see them also dropping that stupid paywall on media streaming.

I'm still not keen on no backwards compatibility though. Hoping next time MS might do something on x86 and start a universal app program that merges PC and console games indefinitely.

Never, ever, EVER going to happen. They'd lose so much money. I agree, it'd be nice. But it won't happen.

Why would they lose money? Don't they sell consoles at or near cost?

I'm seeing these sort of games being sold through the Windows (8) store, with the Xbox label. MS gets the same cut whether the user installs it on a Xbox or a PC.
