I downloaded it and fought some bots. Not too shabby. Looks good, mouse controls are decent, but it made me wanting a joystick. The game reminded me of Freespace 2 which was a good thing.

Using an Xbox controller works pretty well.

If you used the free week trial code, you get a discount if you pledge (buy) the game

They're actually some pretty good deals

Arena Commander V0.9 is here, and it is a big one! You can now update your copy of Star Citizen via the launcher client. Today’s patch is the most significant iteration of Arena Commander yet, featuring new game modes, game balancing and bug fixes! What can you expect to find?

Greeting Citizens,

In honor of Star Citizen’s second anniversary we are opening up all five available trainer hips for use in Arena Commander for a whole week! All backers now have the ability to fly the Aurora, 300i, Hornet, M50, and the 350R. While we wanted to give our fans a small gift, this is also very valuable for the future of the game. We want to see different combinations of ships across all the Arena Commander modes, this will also allow us to stress test the game in a ways we have not been able to yet. All five ships will be available to all backers, and in your hangars, from October 10th – October 17th. In the future, we will use this system to unlock specific ships for test purposes as feedback is needed.

Thank you Citizens for you dedication and continued support of Star Citizen! Be sure to post your experiences on the forums… and we’ll be watching you!

Looks great so far. I don't follow the game as intently as I do Dayz but these "big" reveals are always cool. I would have been more interested in see FPS and combat. The environment they showed looked Borderlands mixed with Rage.

The only problem I have with the game so far is that in multiplayer matches it feels like the only way to kill ships is to run into them. I make an effort to not do that but everyone else still does. Nice that they added the Friend code back in. Though it is a little clunky.

Drake Herald is now available
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pled ... Herald-LTI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Drake Herald is a small, armored ship designed to safely get information from Point A to Point B. Featuring a powerful central engine (for high speed transit and generating the power needed for effective data encryption/containment), advanced encryption software and an armored computer core, theHerald is unique among personal spacecraft in that it is designed to be easily ‘cleaned’ when in danger of capture.

Looks great!

Can't believe they still want 2-3 more years before releasing.

I don't believe 2-3 years is their timeframe. I think it's closer to within a year. But they will keep adding even after 'release'

Says here they expect it done 'some point in 2016'. Hopefully doesn't slip longer than that.
