Double check your accounts in-game. There's been a large amount of hacking reports form last night and yesterday. Even from people with authenticators. So, check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Just got to level 52 and hell. It definitely jumps in difficulty.

Side note, here's all the things that blue monsters can have. Some combinations are deadly at higher difficulties, and nearly impossible.
Arcane Enchanted - Monsters enchanted with Arcane Enchanted trait deal additional arcane damage and have the ability to summon orbs which fire rotating arcane beams

Avenger - When a Champion group imbued with Avenger arrives, the death of each group member imbues the remaining Champions with added power as they wreak their frenzied vengeance on the Hero

Desecrator - A monster with Desecrator trait creates a glowing void zone beneath the targeted Hero that

Electrified - A monster with the Electrified trait has higher lightning resistance, deals additional lightning damage and discharges sparks across the floor in random directions when stuck. When the monster dies it leaves an electric ball that will continue to generate sparks for a short time

Extra Health - This trait bestows the imbued monster with extra HP

Fast - This makes monsters run, attack and cast magic faster

Fire Chains - Champion backs are attached by a fire chain. The Hero suffers damage if he touches or even gets near one of the fire links.

Frozen - Monster with the Frozen affix can summon frost orbs that grow and eventually explode causing cold damage and applying a Chill and a Freeze debuff

Health Link - Health Link reduces the amount of damage taken by the champion with that trait by linking his HP to that of all other Health Link champions in the area

Horde - Horde increases the squad of minions that spawn with a rare monster, crowding the battlefield

Illusionist - The Illusionist trait imbues a creature with the ability to create dangerous clones of itself

Invulnerable Minions - Monsters imbued with this trait arrive with a squad of indestructible puppet minions and an expanded heath pool

Jailer - This trait gives monsters the ability to immobilize the Hero in a conjured prison

Knockback - Knockback allows monsters to push back the player a short distance with each connecting blow, whether it be ranged or melee

Missile Dampening - Creatures imbued with the trait generate a reddish sphere around themselves. Any projectile entering this sphere moves 50% slower than normal

Molten - Monsters that spawn with this trait deal extra fire damage. In addition, they leave trailing pools of lava that deal fire damage over time. Any non-minion monster killed with this trait leaves a time bomb that will explode after 3 seconds, dealing large amounts of fire damage

Mortar - Monsters with mortar can lob several fireballs that deal splash damage on impact.

Nightmarish - Nightmarish monsters have a chance to fear the player on hit and can be triggered from both melee and ranged attacks

Plagued - Monsters enchanted with Plagued leave pools of poisonous green goo around them for 9 seconds

Shielding - This trait gives the monster a brief period of invulnerability to all forms of damage

Teleporter - Gives the monster the ability to teleport to a nearby location

Thorns - When you strike a Thorns-imbued foe with a melee attack, you suffer automatic damage in return

Waller - Monsters with Waller can summon earthen walls between the player and the monster, or sometimes behind the player to prevent escape

Vampiric - This trait allows monster to literally feast on the damage they inflict to you by turning it into health for themselves

Vortex - Grants the ability to forcibly pull the player right next to the monster

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6018173" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
We have a patch coming within the next week (patch 1.0.2) that has been in development since the game’s launch and is mainly aimed at addressing service issues. The first real game balance changes, outside of hotfixes, will be coming in patch 1.0.3.
  • On average players have created 3 characters each
80% of characters are between levels 1 and 30
1.9% of characters have unlocked Inferno difficulty
54% of Hardcore players chose a female character
The majority of Hardcore deaths (35%) occur in Act I Normal
The most common level 60 build in the game is only used by 0.7% of level 60 characters of that class (not including Passive diversity)
The most used runes for each class at level 60 are Barbarian: Best Served Cold, Demon Hunter: Lingering Fog, Wizard: Mirror Skin, Monk: Peaceful Repose, Witch Doctor: Numbing Dart
we’re looking to adjust the Blacksmith costs for training (gold and pages) and crafting from levels 1-59, and reduce the cost of combining gems so that it only requires two gems instead of three (up to Flawless Square). Both of these changes are scheduled for patch 1.0.3.
To help correct misconceptions of the actual stat budgets allocated to items, we’ll be exposing item levels (ilvl) of 60+ items in patch 1.0.3. Comparing an ilvl 63 blue to an ilvl 60 Legendary will hopefully make a bit more sense afterward. In addition, we’re planning to just straight-out buff Legendary items in a future patch, likely the PvP patch (1.1). These buffs will not be retroactive, and so they’ll only apply to new Legendary items found after the patch. In the long term, we’re looking at simply expanding the affix diversity and unique bonuses of Legendary items, and we’ll be able to share more details after the PvP patch.
The intent of incoming damage is that it should be a very consistent drain on your health, and mitigating that drain is a major part of what makes Inferno mode difficult. Right now, there’s a lot more damage “spikiness” occurring than feels right, and that’s one major area we’re looking to adjust in patch 1.0.3.

Don't join public games. There's been numerous reports of people being hacked while in-game, and they all seem to be from joining public games with un-savory people.
FYI.

GET AN AUTHENTICATOR.

And by the way, battle.net passwords are not case sensitive.

Supposedly there is some sort of man in the middle attack where they steal your session and you jsut get disconnected, but they take your session already logged in. An authenticator won't help with that type of attack.

All 2nd hand info, grain of salt and all that, but there's lots of people posting saying that's what happens.

Blizzard made a post that the man-in-the-middle attack was not possible... Without specific details you'll never know.

If accounts that are hacked had an authenticator there's some kind of bypass for it... Fact is the information reported on the official diablo forum needs to be assumed that the original poster is flat out lieing. You don't really know if someone was using an authenticator or not or is just saying they are to avoid criticizing. The forum is really sickening... it's like the entitlement capital of the internet.

Also, make sure to scan your PC for malware.

In talking with Marc, I remember he said he didn't have to enter his authenticator every time he logged in... This could be how they are hacking accounts w/ authenticators somehow. When I login to battle.net or Diablo 3, it asks for my authenticator code every single time.

Last time I played with Joe I listened to him discover that he was hacked. All items gone, all moneys gone.

I don't have an AUTHENTICATOR and probably won't ever. Seems like too much of a hassle for shit I don't really care about. Now once they activate the real money auction house then it's a different story. Not for me again because I won't be dropping money on items.

FYI, it only asks when you change IP addresses. So I only have to enter it when I log into the forums from work, then the game from home. If I only log in from home, I don't have to enter it. So, IMO, it's no hassle at all, even less if you don't visit the forums.
